Possession of valid registration as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant with the California Speech/Language Pathology Board.

Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).

Previous experience working with individuals with special needs

2 years’ experience a Speech Language Pathologist/Specialist

Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate

Basic Life Support required at hire

Clinical skills need for hospital and outpatient setting.

Under supervision, provides diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Evaluates and treats communication and swallowing disorders for both adult and pediatric populations. Administers diagnostic tests and implements individualized treatments.

Completion of a Speech Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) Internship required by date of hire.

Provides assistance to the educational staff as part of case management through consultation, training and direct individual and group activities. E

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

Record keeping and records management.

Assists the Speech-Language Pathologist in assessment of students' communication skills. E

Learn laws, rules, practices, and procedures related to public education for students.

Model communication and interaction that respects and includes all individuals and their languages, abilities, religions and cultures.

One year experience working with students of various age levels requiring a specialized learning environment.

Perform related duties as assigned.
