A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is a healthcare professional who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of communication and swallowing disorders in both adults and children. SLPs work with individuals who have difficulty with speech, language, and/or swallowing.What is Speech Language Pathologist Skills Required?
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with a variety of people
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Knowledge of speech and language development
• Ability to assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices
• Ability to develop and implement treatment plans
• Ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals
• Ability to use technology to support treatment
What is Speech Language Pathologist Qualifications?
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
• Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
• State license or certification
• Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
What is Speech Language Pathologist Knowledge?
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
