Bachelor's degree in social work or human services field, including but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology

The following experience/skills are preferred:

Address the needs of children and families including safety, basic needs such as food, hygiene, education, health, and mental health.

Upload/e-file timely, accurate and detailed documentation for court involved cases and manage your schedule to accommodate your caseload.

Attend and participate in various training sessions offered by HHS and other partner agencies.

Critical thinking skills and plan development

Ability to manage multiple deadlines

Provide individual, group, or push in counseling services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Behavior Plan

Support social emotional learning skill development through targeted curriculum, assessments, and more intensive behavior support as needed

Documents in students’ files according to requirements of regulatory agencies

Knowledge of regulatory requirements of DOH and all pertinent agencies.

Assesses resident financial situation, referring to Finance Department as necessary, i.e. Medicaid application. Provides financial counseling as required.

Reviews significant events/occurrences related to family, finance, and psychosocial behavioral changes with interdisciplinary team.

Complies with all third party regulations. Keeps current in knowledge of changes to regulations and best practices in social work.

Maintains current knowledge of community resources and new applicable regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or Psychology.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Master of Social Work program (MSW)

Licenses/Certifications: Current license as a Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Texas required;

Field placement or internship in health services/health care provider experience.

Must have acute care social work hospital experience

Current Case Management Certification is preferred, or the ability to attain certification.

Masters in Social Work required

Social Work license in state of practice

Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office Suite™ required.
