Overview A Sheetmetal Apprentice is a person who is in the process of learning the trade of sheet metal fabrication. They are typically employed by a sheet metal fabrication shop and work under the supervision of a journeyman or master sheet metal worker. The apprentice will learn the skills necessary to fabricate and install sheet metal products such as ductwork, roofing, siding, and other metal products. Detailed Job Description The Sheetmetal Apprentice is responsible for learning the trade of sheet metal fabrication. This includes learning how to read blueprints, measure and cut sheet metal, use hand and power tools, and install sheet metal products. The apprentice will also learn how to use welding and soldering equipment, as well as how to use a variety of other tools and machines. The apprentice will also learn how to inspect and test sheet metal products for quality assurance. Job Skills Required
