4+ years of Underwriting Experience

4+ years of experience underwriting FNMA, FHLMC, and Non-Conforming mortgages is a plus

Knowledge of Desktop Underwriter (DU) & Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA)

Underwrite and decision agency conforming, jumbo FHA/VA residential mortgage loans.

Verify and analyze all necessary financial information and documentation; ensure that loan files contain all necessary credit and legal documents.

Strong full doc underwriting experience to help with Bridge to Homeownership and Fannie Mae loan.

Expert-level knowledge of overall mortgage lending processes, including underwriting, funding, and loan processing.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience working within Encompass preferred

Underwrite primarily agency loans but also have ability to underwrite portfolio loans.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Thoroughly knowledgeable of mortgage products and services offered.

High school diploma with previous banking and/or financial experience.

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is preferable.

Knowledge of basic lending and underwriting policies and procedures, including guidelines issued by FNMA and FHLMC.

Minimum of five years previous lending experience, including at least three years actual underwriting experience.

Ability to use their mortgage quantitative and management skills.

Experience working with secondary market investors and management experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

Must demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with manual underwriting.

Bachelor’s degree in general studies, business, management, or related field preferred.

LOS and Product & Pricing Engine experience understanding with system integration knowledge.

3-5 years of Underwriting Experience

Knowledge of insurance products/coverage, underwriting, pricing, risk selection.

Maintain Direct Endorsement (DE) certification to meet FHA/HUD standards.

Demonstrates a complete understanding and use of Desktop Underwriter for credit decisions on all loans.

Reviews and analyzes DU Findings on all types of loans. This includes restructuring for possible better findings and applicable pricing.

Acts as primary Underwriter for secondary market and portfolio loans including construction, blanket, self-employed and combo loan applications

Strong PC Knowledge skill set and ability to adapt to different platforms with minimal assistance.

Strong relationship skills with distribution partners and key accounts

Mentoring/development of less experienced underwriters

Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision

At least 3 years of Individual Life Insurance and/or Disability Insurance underwriting experience

Minimum of 3-5 years individual life underwriting experience

Identify opportunities by using market knowledge and your understanding of the carrier partner's risk appetite

3+ underwriting experience, preferably in environmental or casualty excess and surplus lines

Experience working for an MGA is also preferred but not required

Provide demos to brokers and provide trainings to facilitate system onboarding

Use existing relationships and develop further relationships to continually bring in new business

Existing broker relationships and/or proven ability to develop them

Previous lending underwriting experience is essential.

Analytical skills to make data-driven decisions and evaluate complex financial information.

Excellent communication skills to convey findings and recommendations effectively.

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field preferred.

Assess loan applications, evaluating the financial viability and risk factors of each borrower and loan

Mitigate risk by conducting thorough due diligence, analyzing creditworthiness, collateral value, and repayment capacity.

· Experience working in a multiple investor environment

· Minimum 3 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
