Senior Mechanical Project Engineer Jobs

Manage multiple capital and maintenance projects, including design, purchasing, contract and construction management, financial, and documentation.

Produces due diligence and feasibility studies in support of client’s requirements on systems of all levels of complexity.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVAC field

Must understand appropriate codes and LEED requirements

Must be proficient in a variety of HVAC systems and shall be considered a technical expert and resource to the office

Writes specifications and ensures coordination of their preparation with other disciplines

Has an extensive understanding of construction process. Reviews shop drawings and answers questions during construction

Experience with quality management systems compliance, such as ISO9001 and/or AS9100

Ensure compliance to a AS9100 quality management system, including identifying, implementing, and documenting processes and procedures to improve mechanical workflow.

Compensation, based on experience and qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline; alternatively, 5 or more years of direct mechanical engineering experience

Execution of detailed design activities as well as technical oversight of Mechanical Designers to complete detailed design activities

Part modeling and library maintenance in Autodesk Inventor

Part specification and development of assembly bill of materials

Support purchasing and manufacturing activities related to assembly construction

Development of assembly field installation instructions

Assist in developing, communicating, implementing and regularly review systems, strategies, standards and processes (including environmental plans or health management programs) .

Regularly provide clear reports to project management.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Manage and coordinate multidiscipline engineering activities to ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.

Ensure the project conforms to the client's approved Basis of Design and all applicable regulatory and code requirements.

Identify, document, communicate and meet the client's requirements.

Minimum 5 years in heavy manufacturing/industrial environment, including experience in hydraulics, maintenance systems, trouble-shooting and project management.

Must be proficient in CAD, with AutoCAD experience preferred.

Lead an internal team including union workers

Work on large capital improvement projects

Process improvements or equipment improvements

Ability to stay within budget and schedule constraints

Perform job responsibilities in Mechanical Engineering department under the direction of the Mechanical Section Manager.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Reviews the supplier data to assure compliance with project requirements and specifications including ASME vessel code and API standards.

5 - 15 years of experience with engineering and design with-in Chemical, Battery, Hydrogen, and Petrochemical facilities

Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required

Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with 3 plus years of design experience

Experience with finite element analysis

M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with 5 plus years of design experience

Experience in designing for weight savings

Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques (Additive, etc.)

Experience with electromechanical systems, hydraulic systems, sensors, and motors

Position requirements include : Mentor junior engineers, designers, CAD operators.

Performs and/or directs the preparation of complex project documents including specifications and bid documents.

Assists in training of division Project Engineers I and II.

Performs basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Must interface well with employees at all levels.

· Provide feedback and recommendations to engineering management on group and personal work progress and status.

· Facilitate research and development projects to enhance Safran Test Cells’ capabilities.

· Ensure cost effective mechanical designs in compliance with specified technical and contractual requirements.

· Acquire ongoing knowledge necessary to perform job assignments and to improve technology, products and processes.

· 7+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience required.

· Design experience in both US and SI units and materials specifications preferred
