Senior Gis Analyst Jobs in Maine

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Knowledge of professional writing styles based on professional experience.

Experience supporting and anticipating client needs and demonstrating problem-solving skills.

GISP Preferred (GIS Certification Institute - GISCI certification).

Strong written and oral communication skills evidenced by publication, technical report, and conference presentation record.

Possess strong attention to detail and excellent recordkeeping skills.

Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Programming experience in a high-level language such as Python, JavaScript, C#

Experience with database language such a PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server

Experience with GIS tools such as QGIS or ArcGIS

Experience with Spatial SQL language such as PostGIS

Desirable Knowledge, Abilities & Skills/Desirable Training & Experience

Advanced skill in custom map production procedures and techniques.

Nature of Work/Examples of Work Performed

Assist with gathering, compiling, evaluating, and analyzing relevant geospatial data.

Create, maintain, and monitor computer application programs and scripts in various programming languages.

Provide support services needed to maintain an effective enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS).

A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications

Advanced query skills, preferably SQL environment. Knowledge of python and html is a plus.

Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when responding to user questions and request for service.

**Additional compensation based on licensure.

Prepares status reports, presentations and/or demonstrations of the County’s geographic information systems as required.
