Security Officer K9 Handler Jobs in Nevada

High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field is a plus

Provide detailed reports to management following any significant K9-related incidents or security breaches

Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

Must have at least 1-year armed security experience

Previous certification as a K9 handler or trainer is a plus

Experience working in the field for a high volume, luxury, complex resort is a plus

A working knowledge in the area of investigations, possess investigative and analytical skills.

Must be “team centered” and promote a positive work environment. Must work well with other departments and management as necessary.

Able to communicate clearly with staff, management, and the public through oral and written word.

The K9 Handler will maintain the canine’s proficiency in explosives detection through routine training and certification.

3 years prior experience preferred in law enforcement, military or private security.

Ability to pass a company approved canine certification course within the first 90 days of employment.

Requires a minimum of (3) three years of experience in Security, Military, Law Enforcement, or Customer Service.

Hotel/Casino Security experience is strongly preferred, but not required.

American Red Cross certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer required and must be obtained before entering this position

Knowledge of local laws, investigative methods, and fire safety procedures is preferred.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Animal training background is preferred, but not required.

Two (2) years of canine management and supervisory experience.

Manage and maintain all aspects of the kennel facility.

Manages schedules, reviews work, and evaluates K9 Managers all K9 employees.

Maintain up to date records on training, licenses, and permit requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

Must hold or be able to obtain certification in the completion of both canine firearm and explosive detection courses
