Scientist 3 Immunology Discovery Jobs in Iowa

Prepare seminars, talks, lectures, and the like for dissemination of knowledge, particularly the results of projects undertaken.

A minimum of 2 - 3 years of postdoctoral research experience in advanced studies of microbiology, molecular biology, or biochemistry.

Working experience with each of the following:

Experience with complex bacterial strain construction.

Experience with writing NIH grants.

Perform research on specified topics for use in experimentation and grant writing.

Design and execute experiments critical for target validation and in vitro and in vivo pharmacology

Drive drug discovery efforts for Immunology

Use a wide array of techniques relevant to neuroimmunology and immunology (Flowcytometry, FACS, IHC, Spatial transcriptomics)

Design and execute experimental plans, perform rigorous analysis and interpretation of experiments

Deliver and present the experimental results to the Immunology RU and cross-functional teams.

Participate on research teams in early target discovery and work to advance programs to R&D

OR PhD in bioinformatics, engineering, statistics, physics, molecular biology, genetics, or a similar discipline. No experience required

Relevant experience in preclinical or clinical research.

Experience with designing experiments and performing statistical analysis.

Solid statistical training and knowledge in hypothesis testing, statistical inference, regression analysis, data mining, etc.

Working knowledge of commercial and publicly available biological databases including NCBI, Ensembl, ArrayExpress/GEO and SRA is expected.

Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, rigorous and creative thinking

Experience with database use and management for sequencing and bioinformatics data

Knowledge of laboratory quality management system

Three years of professional experience working with next generation sequencing.

Experience with bioinformatics software packages or bioinformatics analysis and interpretation of sequencing results.

Experience preparing and presenting highly technical trainings and communicating scientific information to audiences of varied professions.

Reliably document, interpret results and data, and present scientific findings within project teams or to upper management to enable decision-making

Post-graduate experience in a related field is required.

Experience with data collection, processing is required.

Highly motivated and a team player, with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills is required.

Experience in Luminex, ELISA, or other 96-well plate based-assays is required

Demonstrated expertise in flow cytometry is required with experience analyzing PBMCs and tissue preferred

Expertise with aseptic technique is required with experience in cell culture preferred

Experience in high throughput assay development is preferred
