They must be able to accurately interpret physician documentation and assign codes in accordance with coding guidelines. They must be able to identify discrepancies in medical records and resolve them. They must be able to identify and report any coding errors or discrepancies.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems
• Ability to interpret medical records and assign appropriate codes
