*This is a Remote Position*

Overview:

Primarily responsible for providing expertise in reviewing and assigning accuratemedical codesfor diagnoses, with particular attention to appropriate capture of risk codes based on provider documentation and evidence in the medical record.Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Certified Coder certificationthrough AHIMA or AAPC
  • Other: Excellent English, oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in utilizing MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to learn and navigate quickly in Epic EHR. Skill in identifying and resolving problems. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge of coding policies and clinic operations
  • Education: High School Graduate or GED
  • Experience: Previous coding experience
