Participates in orientation, education and development of healthcare team.

Performs an assessment of the patient, leading to development, implementation and evaluation of a plan of care.

Administers, monitors and documents therapeutic interventions and regimes.

Educates patient and family/responsible party regarding disease process, individual care needs, wellness, safety issues, etc.

Delegates and monitors care rendered by other members of nursing department and healthcare team.

Assesses patient’s education needs and provides instructions or referrals to appropriate provider.

Independently performs assigned duties and responsibilities.

Seeks educational opportunities for professional growth, sharing information learned with other staff as appropriate.

Attends and/or participates in University meetings and in-service offerings as needed.

Assesses and triages patients in an ambulatory care setting consistent with the health services policies and philosophies.

Promotes service standards and creates a patient focused caring environment while addressing and meeting the individual needs of the patient.
