Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required.

Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to competently perform all aspects of the job.

Knowledge of CPT codes, ICD 10 and Athena

Effective written communication skills including, but not limited to writing reports and correspondence.

Effective verbal communication skills including but not limited to speaking effectively to patients, providers, families, and staff.

Minimum 3 years practicing experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).

Master’s Degree required OR commensurate experience and satisfactory completion of APRN licensure.

Excellent customer service and communication/interpersonal skills, both over the telephone and directly.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Strong writing skills to include the ability to compose, edit, and proof a wide variety of documents.

Demonstrated knowledge of medical practice terminology.

Prior experience with appointment, ancillary service or surgical scheduling or a combination of all three.

Six months of experience with Epic health record, or one year experience with another electronic health record.

Provides ongoing feedback to manager regarding training needs, physician performance and process improvement.

2-4 years' experience in related industry

2-4 years of healthcare experience required, or direct experience working in an healthcare environment, preferably in mental health department

Position relies heavily upon communication; must have excellent oral and written communication skills to succeed

Previous experience directly supporting physicians

Interacts effectively with staff, employees, managers, and physicians

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Other Required Skills and Experience

1 year of Clinical Nursing Experience within specialty or related applicable specialty.

In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements

Certification in specialty area preferred

IV insertion and maintenance experience preferred
