Overview Registered Nurse Operating Room (RN OR) is a specialized nursing role that provides care to patients undergoing surgery in the operating room. The RN OR is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients undergoing surgery. The RN OR works in collaboration with the surgical team to ensure the safety and comfort of the patient before, during, and after the procedure. Detailed Job Description The Registered Nurse Operating Room is responsible for providing direct patient care to patients undergoing surgery in the operating room. The RN OR is responsible for assessing the patient’s condition prior to the procedure, developing a plan of care, implementing the plan of care, and evaluating the patient’s progress during and after the procedure. The RN OR is also responsible for providing patient education and providing emotional support to the patient and their family. The RN OR is also responsible for monitoring the patient’s vital signs and administering medications as ordered by the physician. Job Skills Required
