They also provide instruction on how to use library resources and services. Detailed Job Description Reference Librarians are responsible for providing library patrons with access to information resources. They may also provide reference services over the phone or online. Reference Librarians may also be responsible for developing and maintaining library collections, cataloging materials, and providing research assistance. Job Skills Required

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in library science or related field

• Master’s degree in library science or related field preferred

• Previous experience working in a library setting

• Certification from the American Library Association (ALA)
