Real Assets Investment Research Associate Jobs in New York

- Liaising with internal stakeholders (Investment, Legal, Finance)

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 IR experience, preferably within Real Estate and Infrastructure

- Producing presentations and marketing materials for investors

- Conducting fund/portfolio analysis for investors

- Managing relationships with existing LPs

- Creating RFPs and responding to DDQs

• Required Skills and Experience:

Financial modeling skills and general knowledge of portfolio theory, capital markets, private equity, and/or quantitative trading strategies

Among the responsibilities, the Investment Analyst will:

• Monitor and evaluate the fund managers in the Foundation’s portfolio

o Review manager reports and letters, and participate in periodic meetings with investment managers

• Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of existing and prospective fund managers

Prepare real assets and macroeconomic research to present to senior management.

Manage and produce reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis for existing portfolio of investments to monitor portfolio performance.

Strong academic background including Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, real estate, or other related field.

Experience and professional manner in interacting directly in-person with senior members of the investment community.

Experience with database software, such as Power BI, is beneficial.

Excellent organizational, business writing and verbal communication skills.

Recent college graduate with 0-1 years of experience in Finance or related field

Conducting detailed financial modelling and valuation analyses. Maintain or acquire skills to competently handle financial modelling as assigned

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and demonstrated strong excel skills

Assisting in the creation of Power / Infrastructure databases to identify industry trends

Participating in preparation of special projects / ad hoc analysis

Develop new reporting or sourcing tools to assist investment teams, senior management, and other stakeholders around the organization.

Experience in estimating statistical or econometric relationships.

Knowledge of modern data mining, quantitative research, and data science techniques (e.g., decision trees, regressions and machine learning).

Knowledge of multivariate statistics or econometrics.

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Construction/Development or Operations Research.

5 years– validated experience as an analyst of real estate development markets.

Several years of research experience, preferably with a best-in-class developer.

Good quantitative and forecasting skills, good written and verbal communication skills.

Proactive with a "can-do” demeanor and desire to continually grow one's skills.

Ability to think both at a strategic level and offer insights at local asset level.

Highly motivated and detail oriented with strong project management and prioritizing skills

Create performance analysis and reports of existing investments for portfolio management leaders

1-3 years of FIG or Structured Product Investment Banking experience

Advanced financial modeling, cash flow modeling, financial statement analysis and financial due diligence skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Perform investment analysis, industry research, financial modeling, deal negotiation, and transaction due diligence for structured and esoteric asset-based investments

Knowledge of financial institution / insurance client portfolio management a plus (e.g. accounting considerations, income or yield-focused management)

Participate in the setup, evaluation, execution, and management of an investment’s lifecycle through new issue and secondary transactions.

Provide information from conference calls, industry conferences, and discussions with management teams as well as research both industry-wide and company-specific issues.

Minimum 2 years of experience and knowledge of Fixed Income markets and Securitized Assets strongly desired.

Fixed income and general finance knowledge, including an understanding of bond math and risk.

Ability to grasp quantitative concepts of risk and exposure, and their application to portfolio management.

Organizational and time-management skills, strong initiative, and attention to detail

Present educational and strategic content for clients and internal stakeholders

3-6 years of relevant work experience

Professional experience or strong demonstrated interest in blockchain technology and digital assets

Work with external providers and drive accountability for project execution

Identify commercial opportunities for innovation and articulate economic and strategic rationale

2-5 years infrastructure, digital/telecom or real assets investing or advisory experience

Strong modeling and full life cycle deal experience

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Finance, Accounting, etc.)

Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools

Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from various sources
