Procedure Scheduling Coordinator Jobs

Minimum of 2 years technologist experience required,

Procedural Interventional Radiology experience preferred,

This is a fulltime, day position 40 hours/week,

Basic Life Support BLS through the American Heart Association AHA required,

At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a coordinating role

Strong organizational and communication skills

Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

2 or more years of insurance verification experience

Coordinate medical procedures for patients, including scheduling and arranging necessary resources such as equipment, staff, and supplies

Communicate with patients, their families, and medical staff to ensure all parties are informed about the procedure and any necessary preparation

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

Intermediate computer skills to include keyboarding, mouse movement, data entry and scheduling programs.

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

2 years with specific experience in Radiology Scheduling working collaboratively with several departments.

Verbal/written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients and patient families; requires patience and compassion.

Active listening skills; including interpersonal skills and telephone communication.

Coordinates the scheduling of procedures and works with ancillary departments while simultaneously synchronizing services with families.

Works closely with clinical staff for multi-disciplinary visit and procedures coordination

Serves as liaison between hospital scheduling departments and the authorization department to secure authorization prior to medical services.

Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Schedule patients based on the procedure the provider has ordered

Review preparation instructions with patient to ensure the patient has a full understanding of our expectations

Prepare procedure charts to ensure provider has all necessary paperwork prior to start of their day

Acquire necessary referrals for outpatient procedures

Ensure all hospitals have necessary paperwork completed at least 5 business days prior to the procedure

Confirm procedures 5 days prior to appointment for all procedures…office-based endoscopy and hospital patients

Assists with patient education (I.e. diet, medications, wound care, etc.)

Coordinates the scheduling of surgeries with the patient's and physician's schedule.

Counsels patients pre-operatively regarding their potential financial obligations, and provides information about patient insurance coverage.

Discusses pre-operative instructions with the patient, as directed by physicians.

Schedules operating room time, according to physician scheduling protocols; faxes H&P to hospital admitting department.

Schedules all appropriate pre-operative tests and blood work.
