Principal – Assistant Controller Jobs in Maryland

5+ years of financial management experience

Excellent accounting software knowledge and communication skills

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

Experience with creating financial statements.

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Expert level knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Office

Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel at an Intermediate level (to include V-Lookups, Pivot Tables and filtering).

Intermediate Excel skills and knowledgeable in other IT areas.

Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings and financial reporting.

Minimum seven years of experience with accounting, general ledger, US GAAP, and analysis.

Two years’ experience managing direct reports.

Analytically focused with sharp critical thinking skills.

1-3 years of Public Accounting experience, post undergrad highly desired

3 years on the Corporate side

CPA, or CPA candidate a plus

Proficient with ME duties including financial statement prep and analysis
