Pathology Tissue Technician Jobs in New York

Assists in the process of designing and testing methodology and development protocols for new assays.

Participates in academic activities of the Laboratory, reviews the methods and results for publication

Follows all departmental biohazard, chemical, hazardous waste, infection control, and other safety police are followed.

Performs microscopy analysis of samples

Processing of raw data for downstream analysis.

Performs molecular analysis of humans tumor and non-tumor samples using genetic and epigenetic assays

Performs “special” stains in accordance with experience and by assignment.

Some laboratory experience is desirable.

Processes tissue specimens utilizing automated equipment or manually.

Embeds, cuts and stains tissue blocks.

Covers and labels histological slides.

Maintains exact identification and running records of all accessions.

Perform data entry and manage data sets

Experience with whole slide imaging systems and digital pathology software

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of laboratory safety and quality control practices

Operate and maintain whole slide imaging systems and software platforms
