Executes existing queries for established reports.

Maintenance of existing mechanical products and documentation (design improvements, cost savings etc.) and product databases through engineering change process.

Assist in transitioning new products, and improved products to production.

Work with manufacturers to coordinate OEM designs and schedules as they relate to mechanical design.

Review manufacturers’ documentation for completeness and consistency with company guidelines.

Create 2-D drawings to support design teams during development.

Work closely with design engineers in the review and approval of tooling plans, mold drawings and overall tooling schedules.

Report problems or changes to management immediately.

Manage assigned work to meet professional execution, time, and customer satisfaction standards.

Diagnose and repair routine electronic control system malfunctions.

Pursuit of technical 4-year education or technical 2-year education required.

Training and/or experience in using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.

Training and/or experience in using SolidWorks or similar 3-D modeling software.

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Designs are functional, easily manufactured, and meet customer expectations.

Designs are completed according to schedule.

Perform a rotation in the the following engineering teams - Tooling, Manufacturing and Program Management.

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.

Be paired up with a representative from each department to job shadow and learn aspects of that department.

Assigned specific tasks to complete with each team.

Must be seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Plastics.

Must be a self starting and hands on with test equipment and handling materials.

Software: strong knowledge of standard graphic design software

Hardware: strong knowledge about computers, internal networks, VOIP systems, handheld devices

Experience managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines

Take ownership of the work created in the department

Strategizing with Supervisor to meet or exceed quality expectations without compromising project margins

Understanding and estimating the length of projects and driving the design of art pipelines to meet deadlines

Experience working and collaborating within others, both technical and non-technical personnel

Experience with Python (also helpful to have experience with the pandas library)

Ideally experience with analytic reporting tools like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik

Pursuing a degree or has a strong demonstrated passion for Engineering or similar field

You have at least 5 years of industry experience with Engineering or Engineering Management (prior teaching experience a plus).

Working experience with SolidWorks CAD

Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of clearances, fits and tolerances of mechanical parts

Creation and modification of custom parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings all within the SolidWorks CAD environment.

Documenting the BOM, standard parts and work assembly instructions for designs to be transferred to manufacturing

Building of prototype systems and documenting work instructions

Checks designs and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and manufacturability

2+ years of experience in the fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom construction industry

Knowledge of outside plant activities (Fiber Cable Design, Pole Line Construction, Conduit System design), and Make-ready issues

Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

Working knowledge of AutoCAD (a plus)

Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Identify, photograph, & document detailed information of required facilities, including cables, poles, terminals, pedestals, handholes, & other outside plant infrastructure

Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements

Collect/analyze data and offer recommendations for improving processes/designs

Desired: CAD Modeling experience (SOLIDWORKS preferred)

Desired: Simulation and FEA experience

Preferred knowledge of injection molding

Preferred knowledge of sheet metal parts and assemblies
