2. Training and Experience Exam

Supervise, schedule, and dispatch field personnel involved in parking code enforcement and parking control activities.

Monitor a two-way radio; dispatch and log all calls.

Maintain records pertaining to description of parking enforcement routes, Parking Code violations, time zone locations, and related matters.

Receive, investigate, and respond to a variety of public inquiries and complaints regarding parking regulations and enforcement activities.

Issue emergency parking permits and delivery permits as required.

One year of experience involving substantial public contact.

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:

High school diploma or GED equivalency.

Must possess a valid California Class "C" driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Possession of, or ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, Pepper Spray, and NCIC certificates within five (5) months of employment.

1-4 years = 80 hours

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following

Maintains, performs minor service on, and collects money from parking dispensers/meters.

Patrols campus to detect hazards such as fire, theft, vandalism, trespassing and other crimes.

2. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Previous security experience in a college setting and CPR & AED certification;

Requires valid driver’s license, two years of driving experience and successful completion of the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course.

Must be able to successfully complete the NJ CUPSA Basic Security Officer Training Class and maintain applicable certification as required.

Dependent upon assignment, observes, recognized and reports conditions that adversely affect public safety or University policy.

Issues written Security Failure Notices and University Parking Summonses.

Requires ability to effectively communicate in English, both in writing and via two way radio.

Preferred Education Skills And Experience

Experience working in a campus environment.

Experience with hand-held computer devices; two-way radios.

Possess strong customer service skills.

Patrolling all campus parking areas by vehicle and on foot.

Checking vehicles for appropriate parking authorizations using authorized equipment including license plate recognition ( LPR ) system and handheld devices.

Patrols assigned areas within the City of West Sacramento.

Identifies vehicles in violation of parking codes, laws, and regulations.

Issues parking violation citations; responds to parking complaints and inquiries.

Reports traffic accidents, abandoned vehicles, and traffic hazards.

Provides information to the public regarding location of streets, buildings, and points of interest.

Directs pedestrian and vehicle traffic during special events that occur within the City of West Sacramento.

Have strong customer services skills and experience working with the public.

Basic skills in public contact.

2. Training and Experience Exam

Demonstrate high professional standards as representatives of the City of Sacramento.

Possess proficiency in communication due to regular interactions with other sections and departments within the City of Sacramento.

Perform field investigations for parking citation reviews.
