Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee Jobs

Maintains required documentation in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements and maintains respect for patient confidentiality. Generates necessary pharmacy reports.

Proficiency in math and, knowledge and ability to use a computer.

Processes orders using pharmacy computer system. Delivers patient medications to patient’s rooms and medication room areas.

Familiar with pharmacy technology and equipment with the capability of troubleshooting any technical problem.

Prepares and packages medications for delivery to patient’s rooms and medication room areas.

Maintains inventory including floor stock medication, reorders, restocks, and monitors expiration dates of all medications.

Manage individual responsibilities while supporting team members and contributing to broader team goals.

Manage individual responsibilities while being able to shift to help team members and contribute to broader team goals with minimum supervision.

Handle medications in accordance to department, regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., medication records, pulling outdated/unusable medications).

Pharmacy Tech II: Minimum of one years related experience.

Monday - Friday (8:15am - 6:00pm)

To accurately and efficiently follow workflow procedures including prescription processing, medication preparation and distribution to patient.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI RVS): Required

Maintains equipment and inventories, restocks supplies, reviews patient schedules, sets up recording equipment and enters patient information into appropriate systems.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Assist in inventory management processes including order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Enter prescription information including but not limited to: patient searches, prescriber searches, drug selection, prescription interpretation, insurance billing, and basic documentation.

Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctor offices.

Create prescription labels and put them on prescription containers.

Place medication into prescription containers.

Onsite Child Care is available in a brand new education facility.

· Knowledge of pharmaceutical equipment and instruments.

· Knowledge of the regulations and practice standards of pharmaceutical care.

· Knowledge of drug names, drug strengths, and dosage forms.

· Knowledge of applicable computer system software programs.

· Skill in using pharmaceutical equipment and instruments.

Performs the following patient care responsibilities under the general supervision of a pharmacist:

Pharmacy Tech Trainee license in the state of Arizona

Enrolled in a Pharmacy Tech program

Current ACLS or BCLS certification

Assists in delivering patient care in the rehabilitation setting under direct supervision as described in State of Maryland Practice Acts.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Any combination of two years of post-high school experience and/or education in the natural sciences OR

Experience with inventory maintenance activities

Experience working in team environment

Experience working in detail-oriented work environment

Knowledge of windows-based computer programs

Experience working in environment requiring accuracy

Pharmacy Technician training program or prior technician work experience preferred.

High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required

Registered Pharmacy Technician Trainee required

Registered, Certified Pharmacy Technician (OH) within 12 months of registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee required

Sufficient vision to perform duties.

Tasks involve very low exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Minor risk to hazardous chemicals (acids, etc.)/biological/and chemotherapeutic agents exist.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Learns to effectively manage supplies of the department.
