Performs extensive on-call responsibilities to assist with the activities related to the donor recovery.

Coordinates and assists with fly outs and fly backs.

Coordinates and assists with travel arrangements for transplant teams, organs for transplant and specimens to laboratories.

Orders and maintains all necessary supplies related to the organ recovery process.

Maintains sterile supplies and donor equipment bags.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, community education and/or community relations in the healthcare industry.

Manages the implementation and expansion of the Transplant Service Line at HUMC.

Program Liaison: Foster relations to facilitate collaboration for sponsoring, hosting, or participation in educational/promotional outreach events in the service area.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Exhibit excellent communication skills with all clinical and surgical staff.

Complete transplant recipient confirmations, ensuring accurate data entry that feeds donor family communications.

Serve as the central hub of information for local and import donors.

Obtain and upload all necessary clinical and social information to UNET.

Coordinate transportation for donor blood/nodes for serological and histocompatibility testing, biopsies, surgical supplies and transplant teams.

Verify donor demographics and ensure documentation is completed according to hospital and OPTN policy.

Current CST or Surgical Assistant certification required.

CTP certification from the ABTC Required .

2-3 years of surgical assistant or surgical tech experience preferred.

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Surgical Assistant program.
