Overview A Nuclear Pharmacist is a healthcare professional who specializes in the safe handling and distribution of radioactive materials used in medical treatments. They are responsible for preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals, which are drugs that contain radioactive isotopes, for use in diagnostic imaging and therapeutic treatments. Detailed Job Description Nuclear Pharmacists are responsible for the safe handling and distribution of radioactive materials used in medical treatments. They prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals, which are drugs that contain radioactive isotopes, for use in diagnostic imaging and therapeutic treatments. They also provide patient education and counseling on the use of radiopharmaceuticals and radiation safety. Nuclear Pharmacists must be knowledgeable about the properties of radioactive materials, the effects of radiation on the human body, and the safety protocols for handling and disposing of radioactive materials. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of the properties of radioactive materials
