Perform complete vehicle safety and emissions inspections within the lane and enter data into the computer.

Responsible for the accuracy of vehicle inspection data including: vehicle type, engine size, inspection, sticker, etc.

Mechanical background, with above average computer experience/skills.

Welding knowledge and experience a plus.

High School diploma/equivalent 1-3 years vehicle maintenance experience.

Diesel Engine Repair experience is a plus.

Electrical troubleshooting skills on 12-volt DC circuits.

Hydraulics and pump knowledge a plus.

Or 12 months experience as a Motor Vehicle Investigator Assistant, 24320.

Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

This position requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements to include a state Bus Certification.

This position is covered by the Federal Education Association 2396 bargaining unit.

ASE certifications with at least one complete test series relevant to job duties

Manufacturer specific certifications if directly related to daily job duties

Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic (MHM) certification from the International Fluid Power Society

Successful candidate is responsible for verifying all prior work experience and providing all academic transcripts for purposes of salary placement.

Methods, tools, equipment and materials used in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.

Operation and maintenance of gasoline engines, chassis and parts and replacements.

Shop math applicable to vehicle maintenance.

Appropriate safety precautions and procedures.

7. Respond to telephone, written or in person inquiries from the general public concerning commercial vehicle requirements.

After certification of successful completion of required training, the following are required:

Salary is contingent upon qualifications and is subject to salary administration and budgetary restrictions.

Sufficient strength to lift and/or carry up to forty (40) pounds on an infrequent basis a minimum of thirty (30) yards.
