Member Benefits Associate Jobs

Proven experience tracking, prioritizing, and balancing a diverse set of responsibilities with competing deadlines.

Experience with benefits administration, human resources, or payroll.

Assist with the administration and auditing of several benefit programs, including FSAs, 401k, health care, and more.

Help ensure Protect Democracy’s compliance with state-based requirements, which includes collecting and managing large amounts of data.

Develop, implement, and test innovative strategies to educate and engage team members on benefits and wellness resources.

Coordinate with our benefits vendors, including our health insurance brokers and COBRA implementation support team.

Associate’s degree with major course work in business administration, liberal arts, public health, healthcare management, or a related field preferred

Minimum one year customer service, or employee benefits experience

Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel

Coordination of benefits and which plan is primary - (commercial plans, Medicare plans)

Knowledge of the following is preferred but not required:

Place outbound follow-up calls for issues that cannot be resolved during the initial call.

Manage and respond to benefit and leave inquiries in HR support inbox (Zendesk)

Partner with the Benefits Manager on benefit reconciliation including invoices, employee deductions, etc.

Partner with HR Manager (Benefits) as it relates to employees on leave

Support with job description management

Enroll and make changes to employee benefit enrollments as necessary

Support and present benefits information in new hire orientation

Analytical skills - SoFi is a data-driven company so critical thinking, data analysis and interpretation will be needed

Measure, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources to identify trends and inform priorities

Case management for employees on a leave of absence or seeking information on leave of absence.

Coordinate with Benefits Team, Payroll Team and Leave vendor to assist in resolving issues.

Provide Benefits Team with as needed support on key task, ad hoc projects and reporting tasks, including Open Enrollment.

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

Minimum 2+ years of leave administration experience

Impeccable attention to details and interpersonal communication skills – both verbal and written.

Manage leave of absence process for the Company following state and federal requirements

Engage employees on benefits processes and updates

Input and maintain employee benefits information in benefit carrier and HRIS systems

Evaluate and assess current benefit publications and provide improvement recommendations

Prepare annual census information for the renewal process of any medical, dental, ancillary, and voluntary benefits plans

Plan, communicate and conduct meetings designed to assist employees to obtain information and understand Company benefits and other related benefit programs

Verify insurance benefits and check eligibility of all members.

Proactively outreach members to communicate cost estimates based on their insurance coverage and benefits.

Identify trends or patient issues and initiate corrective action to improve the patient experience in terms of cost transparency.

Manage protected health information and follow all HIPAA policies and procedures.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information in a way that is easy for patients to understand.

Comfortable in amorphous, fast-paced environments and with constantly evolving responsibilities.
