Media Relations Intern Jobs in Texas

Experience serving as a spokesperson and driving media relations strategy and execution.

Experience and willingness to pick up the phone and proactively/reactively work complex stories with top tier media.

Lead proactive and reactive communications initiative, and work with reporters to understand and analyze incoming media relations inquiries.

Develop talking points, FAQs and briefs to address critical topics and issues.

Lead the development and execution of proactive, reputation building media engagements and campaigns.

Established reporter relationships and desire to expand network to relevant industry and company beat reporters.

Experience in tracking and measuring impact of coverage on traditional and social media

Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to infuse creativity, innovation, and insight into writing projects.

Superior organizational skills, with high attention to detail.

This internship is for college credit or professional experience.

Track coverage with media, prepare media link distribution for clients, update tracking document, and post on social media

Support post-announcement or post-event press distribution needs, such as labeling and organizing photos, creating coverage reports, sharing media clippings, etc.

Any combination of experience that would likely provide the required knowledge is qualifying:

High School Diploma or higher level of education.

Previous work experience in Media Relations.

Strong writing and editing skills and solid experience developing speeches, executive letters, publications, blog posts, and other written materials

Manage team of media relations employees across the organization to disseminate ExxonMobil news and information to media

A minimum of 15 years of experience, including integrated communications, media relations, journalism, editorial writing, or related areas

Experience working with subject matter and translating technical content into digestible communications for broad audiences

Demonstrated 15+ years of professional experience in public relations, content creation or public affairs

Provide strategic direction to ExxonMobil business lines, leadership and corporate funcations on media relations

Experience in planning, monitoring, data entry and document QA/Q

Strong writing and editing skills and solid experience developing speeches, executive letters, publications, blog posts, and other written materials

Team-oriented management of each communications project

Manage vendors and subscriptions for the media team

Bachelor’s Degree is a minimum (journalism, communications, public relations or related degree), 3-5 years of related work experience preferred

Demonstrated 3-5 years of professional experience in public relations, employee communications, content creation or public affairs
