About Houston (Spring)


ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

  • This position will support the day-to-day activities associated with media relations including managing external communication workflows and working cross-departmentally to deliver consistent and focused external messaging
  • The position is based in Spring, TX
  • They will act as a liaison with departments outside of Global Communications, including Investor Relations and Office of the Secretary and business functions. The individual must have strong analytical skills, passion for storytelling and expertise in the everchanging media landscape and knowledge of tools and trends to best support ExxonMobil’s global strategic goals and initiatives
  • The Media Analyst supports ExxonMobil’s media relations efforts by facilitating internal and external communications, aggregating and analyzing third-party data to enhance communications strategies, assisting in media response and outreach, and stewarding media reports and content packages to internal business clients

What you will do

  • Analyze data and trends from multiple services and digital tools, including but not limited to press release key performance metrics, share of voice, sentiment, and reach
  • Manage vendors and subscriptions for the media team
  • Monitor and track company and industry news coverage, aggregate and distribute daily media report
  • Coordinate, lead or collaborate on special projects as directed
  • Disseminate corporate press releases, working with cross-functional groups to amplify integrated messages, coordinating with internal communications, marketing, digital and social media, and executive communications
  • Under supervision, engage with reporters or third parties to support the company’s strategic objectives
  • Prepare data reports and media packages for internal business clients
  • Support major corporate media events, such as facility start-ups, major milestones, employee interviews, quarterly earnings, news events
  • Develop and carry-out media relations tactics in support of the company’s strategic objectives

About you


The Media Analyst will be a creative thinker with an eye for detail and a passion for teamwork and collaboration. S/he will be professional with excellent organizational skills and a track record for delivering results to support multiple projects in a rapidly evolving environment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in planning, monitoring, data entry and document QA/Q
  • Expertise in AP style
  • Strong writing and editing skills and solid experience developing speeches, executive letters, publications, blog posts, and other written materials
  • Bachelor’s Degree is a minimum (journalism, communications, public relations or related degree), 3-5 years of related work experience preferred
  • Team-oriented management of each communications project
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to apply learning to other database environments
  • A demonstrated track record of collaboration with media outlets


Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Demonstrated 3-5 years of professional experience in public relations, employee communications, content creation or public affairs
