Maintenance Flight Engineer Jobs

The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.

Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements .

Fall 2022 & Spring 2023 Graduating Masters students will be considered.

Solves typical engineering problems within assigned discipline .

Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes to completion of project milestones .

Responsible for a complex engineering assignment, or a full project of lesser complexity .

Familiarity with flight management, guidance, control, navigation, and astrodynamics fundamentals

Derive and develop autonomy requirements, perform analyses and trades to validate requirements, and maintain subsystem specification, and performance metrics.

Support verification and testing, ensuring the subsystem complies to its requirements.

Applied industry experience and/or M.S. or Ph.D. focused on development of spacecraft autonomy and controls

Experience developing embedded control systems for complex aerospace systems

Proven experience in modeling and simulation autonomy and controls operations

15+ years of experience in weapon system development and test engineering that supports responsibilities as described above

Bachelor's Degree Required (Math, Engineering, or Related Science degree. Other degrees considered if candidate has directly relevant experience)

Active Top Secret clearance is required

Coordinate with certification authorities to seek clarification on requirements.

Demonstrated operational experience should also include knowledge of test maneuver techniques and build-up methodologies specific to Flight Sciences testing.

Create and review Development and Certification Plans.

Create and review Component Qualification Test Plans, Qualification Test Procedures and Qualification Test Reports.

Review certification guidance material (advisory circulars, etc.) and incorporate the necessary guidance into the certification plans.

Computing skills (e.g. Excel VBA, Fortran, C, Visual Basic, Matlab, Simulink, CFD, Python)

Communicates issues identified during flight test to team members and management

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Engineering OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Previous work or internship experience with aircraft systems projects and general aviation products

Pilot or aircraft maintenance certification

Experience with revision control tools, mobile application development, audio/video recording tools, or database tools

Drafts ground and flight test plans and reports for basic test programs derived from previous programs

Provide active participation in the Department Safety Management System.

Manage cabin connectivity issues including Iridium, and KA internet systems.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience maintaining corporate turbine aircraft.

Gulfstream large cabin aircraft experience preferred but not required.

Leonardo AW 139 experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance, inspection and repairs.
