Lead Disability Counselor Jobs

Assists in developing, organizing, and conducting programs to provide education for conditions and problems relating to drug and alcohol abuse.

Have working knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy programs

Proven experience in supervising a substance abuse program.

Preference given to experience within a correctional setting.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Develops and updates clinical policies and procedures, treatment manuals and training curriculum, as needed.

Facilitates psycho-educational/behavior modification groups using principles of the "What Works" system. Documents participants' attendance, participation and progress in Company database.

10+ years of experience working with high school students or young adults

Ability to manage, train, and lead the team counselors and bring out their best

Exemplary written and verbal communication skills

$30-35/hour (based on qualifications) starting out part time (20 hours per week)

Compassionate desire to help and guide others and highlight their best assets

Previous clinical experience in disability/absence management, occupational health, psychiatric nursing in a disability management setting required

Certification in case management, rehabilitation nursing or a related specialty is highly preferred

Great multi-tasking, time management and prioritization skills

Conduct quality assurance reviews to identify trends. Provide feedback and corrective action recommendations to management

Collaborate with Sr. Nurse Consultants on formalizing education modules for claim case managers on clinical topics and serve as a mentor

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or equivalent combination of education and work experience required

7. Knowledge and ability to provide counseling on disability management and compensatory strategies for disabled students.

13. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, subordinates and management.

1. Advanced Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

6. Working knowledge of UC Guidelines and Practices, and University Policy as they pertain to disabled students.

9. Working knowledge of adaptive computer technology and specialized software.

10. Ability to work collaboratively with individuals, departments and organizations on and off campus.

Advanced knowledge of the legal framework involving accommodations for employees with disabilities through state and federal laws and regulations.

Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Certified Professional in Disability Management.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a combination of onsite and remote work.

Advanced degree in related area or an equivalent combination experience/training. Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Counseling Psychology preferred.

Advanced knowledge of procedures for assessing and determining disability accommodation issues, including the Disability Compliance Office procedures.

Advanced knowledge of assessment, accommodation, and intervention techniques involved in employee's specialty, for example, learning disorders, mobility disability, visual impairment, etc.
