Inspections Specialist Jobs in Texas

Must be able to satisfy Government, Federal and Customs background check requirements

Assist in the documentation of inspection findings and recommendations

Interact with customers, contractors, vendors and other employees in a respectful, professional manner

Some overtime, nights, weekends and On-Call hours may be required

May work will be at the IAH Airport

Must possess or be willing to obtain any applicable state licenses

High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. College degree preferred

Escalates issues to team lead, supervisor, or managers when unable to de-escalate

Must have strong computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot and service policy issues

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Superior verbal/written skills and communications skills

Must read, write, and speak fluent French (Canadian dialect) and English

Support the business with various responsibilities as required

Experience working with fire protection service coordination and administration is preferred, but not required

Experience with dispatching is preferred, but not required

Outstanding professional communication skills – written and verbal

Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills – for interacting with customers and employees alike

Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities

Two (2) years of lead, project management, or supervisory experience. (This experience may be included in the required experience listed above.)

Six (6) years of experience in one (1) of the following Inspections areas:

Zoning Inspector Certification required within one year of employment.

Experience with inspections related to building code standards or planning/zoning concepts preferred.

Researches zoning information, and other related items prior to meeting with city staff, developers, and contractors

Serves as a subject matter expert on related regulatory codes and permitting.

Liaises with business unit(s) and/or management on compliance programs, policies and procedures.

Communicates results of compliance and ethics initiatives of the business unit to management, including key takeaways and opportunities for improvement.

5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

Assists in enhancing metrics reporting of inspection plan for senior leaders.

Assists in the development of the annual Inspection plan and enhancing inspection methodologies and processes to identify any gaps.
