Overview A Host Home Specialist is a professional who works with individuals and families to provide safe and supportive housing in a home-like environment. The Host Home Specialist is responsible for recruiting, screening, and matching individuals and families to host homes, providing ongoing support to both the host and the individual or family, and ensuring that all safety and legal requirements are met. Detailed Job Description The Host Home Specialist is responsible for recruiting, screening, and matching individuals and families to host homes. This includes conducting background checks, verifying references, and conducting home visits. The Host Home Specialist is also responsible for providing ongoing support to both the host and the individual or family, including providing resources and referrals, monitoring the host home, and addressing any issues that arise. The Host Home Specialist is also responsible for ensuring that all safety and legal requirements are met, including ensuring that all host homes meet local and state regulations. Job Skills Required• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Knowledge of local and state regulations
• Knowledge of housing and social services resources
• Knowledge of crisis intervention and conflict resolution

Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field
• At least two years of experience working with individuals and families in a social services setting
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check
