Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic Jobs in Oregon

Working knowledge of both gasoline and diesel engines, equipment hydraulics, and electrical systems preferred

Preference given to applicants with fabrication and metal work experience

Proven prior experience working on various machines including the above-mentioned equipment

Perform preventative and routine maintenance on both gas and propane forklifts, loaders, and other various equipment

Recognize, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical defects

Conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records

Person must have above average knowledge of the mechanics of vehicles and equipment.

Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

Must be a dependable person who supports the entire company’s operations by maintain the truck and equipment fleet.

Perform routine maintenance and ensure any needed repairs are made.

Proactively remove and minimize potential hazards as they are discovered.

Ensure adherence to safe work practices.

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Troubleshooting and/or diagnostic skills for Engine, Transmission/Drivetrain, Hydraulic, Electrical, A/C, On Board Computer, and Electronic Control Module

Welding / Fabricating experience a plus

FIVE plus years of recent Construction Field Mechanic experience is preferred

Interpret parts and service manuals in order to properly diagnose repairs needed as well as order appropriate parts
