Excellent organizational and time management skills

Accountable for management oversight and budgetary control of the grant’s five year 1.2 million dollar budget.

Serves as the financial manager of the program, overseeing the development and administration of the budget in conjunction with the PI.

Communicates regularly with PI to plan and report on grant activity and data; ensures compliance with all grant reporting requirements.

Two years of work experience in STEM-related program planning and development

Experience working with and supporting under-represented minorities, first-generation, and low-income students

Strong data entry and 10-key by touch abilities

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Full knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software. Knowledge of Yardi is a plus.

5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a non-profit accounting environment

Responsible for Contract, Fund and/or Departmental budgets, expenditures, invoices, financial reports

2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

Prepare financial status reports and adjusting journal vouchers if needed

You have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in related field preferred or High School diploma with relevant skills or experience.

Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure accounting practices are compliant with grant rules and regulations.

You have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal or state R&D (research and development) grant administration.

You are familiar with the financial statement close process as well as an understanding of Finance and Accounting basics.

A minimum of 3-5 years prospecting grants for nonprofit organizations and think tanks, with demonstrated research skills and experience.

Experience working with international projects and knowledge of multinational or overseas foundations is a plus.

Assist the research staff in editing and tailoring existing proposals to match the profile and requirements of specific sponsors.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Deep knowledge of funding and application processes at private foundations and government agencies.

Experience with grant writing for nonprofit organizations is a plus.
