Promptly submits reports and requests to management

Tracks sales trends on an ongoing basis and predicts sales potential based on the use of all available data

Communicates frequently with vendors, brokers and growers

Processes purchase orders and maintains correctness of product pricing

Takes inventory regularly in order to maintain availability of floral supplies and flowers

Coordinates with design staff on special needs

Greets and assists customers with their floral selections and shopping experience

Creates floral designs to fulfill customer orders or cash and carry purchase

Cleans and organizes the floral cooler

Answers phones and completes cash register transactions when needed

Other duties involve making bows, pricing a new product, and cleaning floral buckets

Training is for 5 consecutive days – dates TBD – training location is the short pump location.

Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.

Notify management of customer or employee accidents.

Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.

Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.

Makes recommendations to category management regarding the procurement based on knowledge of floral products.

Works in conjunction with upper management to train and develop partners, schedule, plan, assign, and direct work.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and practice proper time management.

Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.

Monitors and manages department shrink by utilizing current tools and processes.

Advanced knowledge of floral department operations.

Possess abilities and skills for effective production, merchandising and customer services related to sale of merchandise.

Analyze continuously all aspects of Floral Department and periodically make changes or make recommendations to store manager.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Strong Florist Transworld Delivery computer and organizational skills.

Working knowledge of floral arrangement and care of plants and cut flowers.

Develop maximum customer relations by floral department personnel through personal example of friendliness and courtesy and implementation of allcompany policies.

Adhere to floral training/store procedures according to Company policies/procedures and as directed by the Food Manager and Floral Specialist

Assist the Food Manager and Store Director on special promotions for local events and holidays

Knowledge of plants, cut flowers and arrangements

Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure

Participation in a 401(k) plan and/or participation in a Taft-Hartley pension fund, subject to certain eligibility requirements

Communicate and work cooperatively with store director, produce management and other departments

Good communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word;

Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store and create attractive displays.

Weekly documentation and tracking of all products

Ensure accurate pricing on all products sold

Ensure all department standards are being met in the floral department
