Strange’s has a position opening for a full time Floral Merchandise Buyer at the Mechanicsville Turnpike location. The Floral Merchandise Buyer is responsible for planning, purchasing, receiving, and distributing live and artificial floral goods and products based on customer demand, market trends and budgets.

The essential candidate has exceptional analytical skills and the ability to manage tasks in order to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Tracks sales trends on an ongoing basis and predicts sales potential based on the use of all available data
• Promptly submits reports and requests to management
• Processes special customer requests/orders
• Processes purchase orders and maintains correctness of product pricing
• Frequently processes sales reports
• Takes inventory regularly in order to maintain availability of floral supplies and flowers
• Communicates frequently with vendors, brokers and growers
• Investigates and determines what/how/why material came in incorrectly or damaged
• Coordinates with design staff on special needs
• Resolves errors on purchase orders as required
