Position Summary


Order and stock merchandise, cut in new items, maintain department planograms, control inventory, and maintain the assigned section of the Floral department. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.


Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.


Essential Job Functions


  • Plan and prepare merchandising for holidays and seasons
  • Stock and maintain merchandise displays, including watering, grooming, pruning, and rotating
  • Assist the Food Manager and Store Director on special promotions for local events and holidays
  • Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Adhere to floral training/store procedures according to Company policies/procedures and as directed by the Food Manager and Floral Specialist
  • Maintain excellent quality and saleable condition of indoor plant and cut floral merchandise
  • Maintain a clean, fresh, floral department at all times
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Merchandise product to reflect the season and maintain department visual standards
  • Promote and follow Company initiatives
  • Engage with customers and assist with their floral needs and questions
Minimum Position Qualifications:


  • Ability to work all floral holidays, weekends/overtime occasionally, and any shift
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus one year experience in florist/floral arranging duties; or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Any licenses or certificates required by federal and/or state
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Ability to continue education
  • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Knowledge of plants, cut flowers and arrangements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work within strict time frames/resolute deadlines
  • Ability to operate: scissors, stem clippers, wire, box cutters, helium tanks, floral foam/tape, watering can, soil, decorator cubes, flower containers, refrigeration coolers, telephone, office supplies, knife, spray paint
  • Ability to pass drug test

The final rate of pay is determined at store level based on prior equivalent work experience.
