Fashion Design Summer Intern Jobs

Attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills

Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, and 3D modeling software

Knowledge of garment construction, including pattern-making, draping, and sewing

Prior internship or work experience in fashion design or a related field is preferred, but not required

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field

Assists faculty and students with the development and implementation of the departmental fashion shows.

Assists with High School dual credit projects and "Harper Challenge".

Maintains inventory of departmental machinery, equipment, and supplies.

Strong people management and leadership skills including translating vision into actionable objectives

10+ years of product design experience at a high-growth handbag, shoe or accessory company required

5+ years of experience managing a team of designers required

Experience working in a founder-led company in a design role preferred

Category knowledge on handbags, small leather goods and accessories in both leather and synthetics

Excellent ability to listen, comprehend and communicate aesthetic and conceptual intent with a particular focus on brand objectives and production capabilities

Optimize the client experience through providing clients with prompt, professional, warm and courteous service

Fostering a meaningful client experience centered around inclusion and connection

Understanding of, and passion for client experience

Foreign language skills are preferred but not required

Passion for the House of CHANEL, its history, product offerings, and commitment to social and cultural initiatives

Assisting in organizing incoming consignment pieces

Cataloging and preparing new merchandise for copywriting, authentication and condition checking

Create curations and looks for creative and marketing assets

Support fashion team before, during, and after editorial and e-commerce photo-shoots

Liaise with brands and track samples

Support the Senior Product Development Manager in executing the development process from inception through production

Manage development calendar and vendor WIP reports to forecast delay issues

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Fashion Design

7+ years minimum of designing and or product development experience in the apparel industry

Advanced technical knowledge of fabric, construction and garment engineering

Create embroidery mockups and flat sketches (*candidate must have basic knowledge of photoshop+illustrator)

*Minimum of one previous internship experience in an apparel company

A detail-oriented individual with strong prioritization and problem-solving skills

High level of independence, with the confidence and skills to tackle any challenge

Experience: Fashion Design: 1 year (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:

Learn to create prints and yarn dye design

Assist in selection of Pantone standards for prints and solids

Learn about fiber content and fabric construction

Utilize Adobe Illustrator to create technical flats

Learn to identify washes and other fabric treatments, including denim
