Overview Elevator Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators and escalators. They must be knowledgeable in the operation and safety of these systems and be able to troubleshoot any issues that may arise. They must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to ensure that the systems are installed and maintained correctly. Detailed Job Description Elevator Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators and escalators. They must be knowledgeable in the operation and safety of these systems and be able to troubleshoot any issues that may arise. They must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to ensure that the systems are installed and maintained correctly. They must be able to inspect and test the systems to ensure that they are working properly and safely. They must also be able to diagnose and repair any problems that may arise. They must be able to install and maintain the electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of the systems. They must also be able to perform preventative maintenance on the systems to ensure that they are running properly. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
• Ability to inspect and test systems
• Ability to install and maintain components
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
• Certification in elevator installation and maintenance
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
