Position Purpose: The key purpose of the Elevator Field Service Technician is to carry out maintenance, inspections, repairs, refurbishment, and installations and related height safety equipment in a cost efficient and profitable manner while achieving high quality standards and workmanship.

Service Technician will work closely with other service technicians, customers, and report directly to Service Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Have a strong mechanical knowledge of Alimak Group products and services
• Be able to offer mechanical repairs and field modernization solutions to customers
• Ability to work safely
• Have a broad understanding of the related US Compliance Standards and Regulations
• Ability and willing to travel for extended periods of time
• Be able to attend emergency breakdowns, identify repair mechanical faults on standard products
• Have a strong mechanical understanding of Alimak Group Company, Safety and Risk Assessment policies and procedures
• Work on minor mechanical repair, field refurbishment, and smaller installation jobs on standard equipment
• Be able to carry out basic mechanical inspection services to all makes and models of BMU's and/or After Sales equipment.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Knowledge of or able to learn Alimak Group service and new products
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical theory strongly desired
• Knowledge of service tools
• Knowledge of US Compliance Standards
• Able to read and interpret technical documentation
• Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Microsoft Office Knowledge

Qualifications

• Able to comfortably work at extreme heights
• Able to work flexible hours
• Able to travel for extended periods of time
• Able to work in inclement weather conditions
• Current Driver's License - must have a clean drivers record and over the age of 21.
• Similar Mechanical Trade

Experience

• Experience in a similar field strongly desired

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
