Electrical Engineering Supervisor Jobs in Iowa

Manage substation and balance of plant electrical maintenance program, including NERC-required/NETA-recommended testing and inspections.

Review and manage as-built site documentation including electrical drawings, schematics, bill of materials, electrical studies, test reports and relay settings.

Support project and construction managers on new project commissioning and turnover for wind, solar, and storage developments.

Manage root cause analyses to identify potential future risks, and drive fleet-wide corrective action plans.

Two to four years of experience in HV/MV electrical operations, maintenance or design;

Detailed knowledge of three-phase power systems, high voltage electrical equipment & protective relaying;

Experience with cable management and wire routing a plus

2+ years hands-on experience building/wiring up various hardware

Must have experience using multi-meters

Participate in initial equipment conceptual development

Interact with various mechanical, electrical, and software engineers throughout project

Modify electrical enclosures and panels (drilling and cutting)

Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements.

Use 2D and 3D drafting and modeling skills in product design and development, electrical schematics/diagrams, and specifications.

Attention to detail. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Provide technical design of electrical systems and products.

Evaluate systems’ safety, reliability, and performance.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.

Understanding of engineering principles, practices, and tools.

Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.

Understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of industrial facilities.

Participate in day to day engineering activities in a fast paced and varied environment.

Completed at least their freshman year of study.

Sophomore year or higher in electrical engineering education

Good math and science skills

Strong team skills are required but must also be able to work independently

Good communication skills to work with other on the engineering team

Experience with Word, and Excel is a plus

Support development of custom motor product 10-2000 HP for multiple manufacturing locations

Experience with PCBA level diagnostic and rework (such as soldering)

Experience with wire harness and connector rework (such as crimping)

Experience multimeter, current clamps and oscilloscopes

Experience with firmware testing and diagnostics

Experience with debugging and interfacing with CAN protocols

Experience with MS office tools such as PPT and excel

Pursuit, capture, management, and execution of sensor IRAD and CRAD programs.

Knowledgeable, supportive, and engaged leadership

Minimum two (2) years relevant engineering experience

Experience with modeling and simulations.

Experience working in an Agile environment.

Experience with Matlab, Python, DOORS.
