Economic And Policy Analyst I Jobs

Technical Knowledge of the Cloud: Applying technical knowledge related to cloud computing to enhance cost estimating capabilities.

Training: Providing training to enhance cost analysis skills within DASA-CE, including commodity-specific cost analysis, cost modeling, and data science techniques.

Programming Proficiency: Hands-on experience and proficiency with computer programming languages such as R or Python.

Technical Knowledge of the Cloud:

The Senior Analyst/Principal Analyst shall meet the following minimum qualifications:

Data Science and Machine Learning: Utilizing statistics, data science, and machine learning techniques to support analytical efforts and studies within DASA-CE.

Time management skills and have the ability to understand that much or the work we do is time sensitive

Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

Health plan operations experience working with medical policies, edits, or claims.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), 2 years' minimum

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Analyze and elevate education issues across the Birth to 12th grade systems, with a focus on K12,

Coordinate logistics, database development, outreach/publicity materials and distribution related to the Educational Equity team’s policy advocacy efforts.

Other duties as assigned, dependent on organizational needs and employee skills

Specific Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Develop campaign strategies and recognize political opportunities

Make a case for change by identifying persuasive facts and crafting compelling messages; and

Perform citywide position management including monitoring and oversight; review and recommend position related change requests

Develop and present policy analysis to senior management using robust data analysis and visualization techniques.

Evaluate, manage and improve upon processes citywide

A Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Finance or a related field;

Assist with the development of the city’s annual Operating and Capital Budget

Analyze and evaluate program performance and make recommendations to senior leadership

Extremely well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;

Supports National Work and Family Coalition by planning bimonthly meetings, updating listservs, and maintaining organizational sign-on letters;

Supports logistics for events, written products and internal organization projects;

Assists team members with academic and legislative research and data requests;

Supports the team in drafting and updating fact sheets and issue briefs for public dissemination to Hill and coalition partners;

Edits and proofs fact sheets, issue briefs, reports, coalition emails and other written communications;

1-3 years professional experience in healthcare, and working knowledge of health care reimbursement systems and methodologies

Interpret and deliver business requirements covering reimbursement updates and payment policy changes and enhancement features for translation into software design specifications.

Coordinate with developers, QA, data, client service and other team members to ensure that business requirements are implemented accurately and timely

Ability to collect, research, and understand diverse information, and translate it into clear and concise written requirements.

Experience in an agile systems development life cycle (SDLC) environment.

Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access) software applications

A master’s degree, or equivalently developed professional skills, in economics, public policy, international economics, international trade, or a related field.

Exceptional writing skills—especially an ability to write clearly, succinctly, logically, and persuasively for policymakers and lay stakeholder audiences alike.

Knowledge of business economics would be a significant plus.

Experience with statistical and visual programs such as R, Stata, and Tableau a plus.

Locate, extract, manipulate, find patterns, and draw conclusions from public and private datasets.

Compile and analyze data from national and international statistical economic databases.
