Demonstrated success in issue-based campaigns. Experience engaging governments and broad coalitions to build consensus on policy issues is a strong plus.

At least four years of policy, campaign, research, and other relevant experience (including internships).

Supports National Work and Family Coalition by planning bimonthly meetings, updating listservs, and maintaining organizational sign-on letters;

Supports logistics for events, written products and internal organization projects;

Assists team members with academic and legislative research and data requests;

Supports the team in drafting and updating fact sheets and issue briefs for public dissemination to Hill and coalition partners;

Edits and proofs fact sheets, issue briefs, reports, coalition emails and other written communications;

Previous Administration or Capitol Hill experience or knowledge of Congressional processes

All other tools, materials and communication requirements for this project to be undertaken

Knowledge of key qualitative and quantitative resources related to US development policy

Demonstrated solid writing, editing, and researching skills

Solid computer skills: must be able to work effectively and accurately with MS Word, Excel, Google applications, and email.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS

A master’s degree, or equivalently developed professional skills, in economics, public policy, international economics, international trade, or a related field.

Exceptional writing skills—especially an ability to write clearly, succinctly, logically, and persuasively for policymakers and lay stakeholder audiences alike.

Knowledge of business economics would be a significant plus.

Experience with statistical and visual programs such as R, Stata, and Tableau a plus.

Locate, extract, manipulate, find patterns, and draw conclusions from public and private datasets.

Compile and analyze data from national and international statistical economic databases.

Experience with stakeholder engagement and project management.

Extensive knowledge of and experience in health equity programs, racial and social justice.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in facilitation and presentation.

Strong analytical skills and ability to manage and report complex information.

Prior experience leading multi-faceted, complex initiatives.

Background in trauma-informed systems approach (some familiarity, at a minimum; training and experience in implementing, a plus).

Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public administration, political science or related field with seven (7) years of related experience.

Knowledge of federal early childhood funding streams and legislation, the state legislative process, grassroots, and grass tops advocacy and strategies.

Effective group consultation and meeting facilitation skills.

Ability to use data and analytical skills to proactively identify opportunities, set priorities and solve problems.

Proficiency in virtual meeting/collaboration, project management, and survey software (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Asana, Survey Monkey)

Experienced in quantitative and qualitative data entry and data visualization

Create new tools and processes, where needed, to support successful project management
