Obtains medical history. Checks vital signs. Advises/informs on-call physician of diagnostic indication. Performs definitive life support.

Required skills: Breast imaging, Obstetric fetal anatomy imaging, as well as experience performing a wide variety of general diagnostic exams

Performing and maintaining quality assurance requirements in compliance with the ACR and State/Federal requirements.

Completion of formal Ultrasound training/educational program

2 years of Ultrasound experience preferred

Knowledge of patient-focused care delivery

Proactively monitoring daily/weekly schedules, assure appropriate protocols are performed, and

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Two-year acute care facility experience is preferred

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Minimum two years recent modality experience.

Performs ultrasound studies (i.e. obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, retro peritoneal, small parts, pediatric, and vascular).

Minimum of one (1) year of medical records experience, required.

Must have thorough knowledge of (patient) medical record (EMR) components and releasing patient information.

Must possess and demonstrate working knowledge and ability to work with computers and software programs including excel spreadsheets.

Assists with clerical duties effecting Ultrasound patients/exams.

Aid in preparation of Ultrasound policies. Maintain established policies, procedures objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.

Be available for standby and call back on a routine basis (there is an hour response time for Ultrasound call-in.)

High School graduate or equivalent

Must be ARDMS certified and/or RCVT Certified

1-3 years related work experience required.

Independence of Action: Ability to follow general instructions and procedures as provided. Work is monitored by supervisor/manager.

Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Recent experience (within the last twelve (12) months) as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and to apply the principles, theories, practices and techniques of diagnostic medical sonography.

Minimum one (1) year clinical experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in an acute care medical center.

Depending upon department needs, relevant specialty experience may be required.

Demonstrates competence in the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment, real-time and mobile, to obtain quality diagnostic images.

Enters test data and patient information into ultrasound equipment and/or applicable computer system(s) to record scan results and diagnostic data.

Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills (Assessment required for external candidates).

Demonstrated communication (written and oral) skills.

Skills in problem-solving, setting priorities and using good judgment for decisions.

Current National Medical Assistant Certification.

Other duties as assigned consistent with job description.

Required satisfactory completion of formal Ultrasound Training program.

Material characterization (biomaterials and plastics, experience with Instron testing machines)

Documentation skills and skills in writing standard operating procedures

Work with postdocs to design prototype medical devices and drug delivery systems

Operate and maintain mechanical fabrication/testing equipment

Formulate and perform chemical/mechanical characterization of polymeric materials for drug delivery

Execute statistical analysis of experiments

Utilizes knowledge of medical terminology and processes in a clinical environment.
