They must also learn the proper use of firearms, defensive tactics, and other law enforcement techniques. The Deputy Sheriff Trainee is responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls for service, and enforcing laws. They must also investigate crimes, apprehend suspects, and testify in court. Job Skills Required
