Five years of experience in special education programs or related field

First Aid and CPR Certification.

Professional experience working with students and/or teachers in career and technical education.

Master’s degree in Teacher Education or related field

Prior teaching experience at the college level (preferred)

Prior experience with online learning (preferred)

CLAD, BCLAD or ELD/SDAIE Certification (preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities: Area Instructional Coaches

•Organizes and supervises the implementation of the charter’s Bilingual/ESL PK and K summer school program

• Works cooperatively with others in developing the mission and articulating a vision for ILTexas.

• Systematically monitors school improvement and district-wide evaluation activities.

• Uses evaluative findings to determine the extent to which goals and objectives are met.

Experience in implementing educational reform efforts at the school district and/or state level.

Knowledge of Title III Bilingual Education legislation.

Knowledge of a variety of bilingual education models.

Experience with the use of technology in education and administration.

A team of professional collaborators leading students and supporting their educational paths.

Other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.

At least five years of successful experience in special education program/classroom.

Masters Degree in Special Education.

Well-versed in full inclusion models of education.

Knowledgeable in RTI & 3-tier Models for instruction.

Well-versed in federal and state programs to leverage benefits and services for our schools.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Oversee the functionality of all division processes including staff scheduling, project management timelines, budget tracking and maintenance.

Monitor and evaluate MoMA Learning programs with a view to updating, improving and refining offerings on a regular basis.

Supervise department staff including School, Teacher, Family and Youth Programs, Learning Specialists and operational support staff. Conduct annual staff performance reviews.

Develop annual department budget that reflects MoMA department priorities and monitors income and expense lines.

Demonstrate initiative in continually researching and addressing strategies for integrating new modes of engagement and best practices into programs.

Demonstrated commitment to values of diversity, inclusion and learner-centered interpretation strategies.

Manages targeted, high-priority strategic projects on behalf of the Superintendent.

Responds effectively to matters related to special education litigation.

Listens intently and actively to stakeholders; understands nuance, and skillfully interprets motivations and perceptions.

Acknowledges systemic racism, power, and privilege in organizations and commits to dismantling inequities.

Demonstrates skill, respect, and honesty in addressing matters of equity, race, and bias in talent decision-making.

Understands all aspects of special education law, including legal mandates and regulations governing the provision of special education and related services.

Manage schedule changes for all students with disabilities

Deep knowledge of South Carolina Special Education law and policy

Previous experience serving as an LEA Representative for special education meetings

South Carolina Certification in Education Administration Preferred

Lead formal and informal professional development around special education law and compliance for teams across the school and network as needed

Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Special Education required
