Database Reliability Engineer Jobs

High school diploma or GED equivalent with 6 Years relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 2 Years related experience

Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 0 Year related experience

Minimum of two years of experience with Database Engineering / Administration

Able to obtain IAT Level II certification such as CASP+ or Security+ within 90 days

Able to obtain Neo4j certification within 90 days

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Exploring new tooling and automation to enhance both the customer and operational user experience

Using advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and fix problems

Previous experience with database administration or engineering on PostgreSQL or Cassandra

The ability to code or script; experience with Ansible and Python is beneficial

Experience working with CI\CD pipelines and orchestration platforms, such as Jenkins

Database engineering and management activities associated with high volume, multi-format data management services

Designs large-scale data management solutions including developing efficient storage, indexing, and access approaches

Experience with Postgres, SQL, PL/pgSQL

Experience installing application software in an operational environment

Experience with Agile, AWS, RDBMS technology, Elasticsearch, Linux

Knowledge of data modeling, Cameo

At least 5 years of relevant experience in designing, implementing, and administering relational database management systems.

Experience with PostgreSQL database administration.

Experience with transactional database engines.

Experience with scripting and programming languages.

Experience maintaining database-related server and client software, including user accounts and roles.

Experience managing extremely large datasets.

Database management systems (i.e., as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience

6+ years of experience working as a Database Engineer or Architect within a MySQL/Linux based environment, or similar.

Experience in database architecture/engineering, data modeling, and schema design.

Proven experience in designing and implementing database solutions in high-performance and scalable environments.

Experience within an Agile/Scrum environment.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Experience with Replication including setup, troubleshooting issues and failovers.

Ensure production uptime service levels are maintained and made available per requirements that include backup, recovery, refresh, performance tuning, and security.

Experience with Schema creation, deployment and maintenance

Experience with Setting up and configuration of Auditing, audit trails.

Experience with Performance analysis, monitoring of SQL queries and platform specific tuning.

General Database Engineer Duties and Responsibilities

A genuine interest in investment strategies, equities, and fixed income. Asset management industry experience is a plus.

Strong analytical, data and programming skills (Python/SQL/NoSQL/JavaScript)

1+ year of experience with cloud computing services, AWS preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skill, must be a team player.

Review sql queries, identify bottlenecks.

Participate in code reviews, freely giving and receiving constructive feedback

Measure and monitor database performance with more experienced members of the team to ensure optimal configuration settings are applied

Protect, preserve, and ensure the availability of the data

Document and automate processes to eliminate time spent on recurring tasks

Build, test, and maintain self-serve tools for application and database developers

Become proficient with available in-house developed and 3rd party tools

Share responsibility for database security, backups, and maintenance tasks

Agile certification and/or career experience in a rigorously-managed agile environment

Experience in modern DevOps/SRE practices such as CI/CD, performance monitoring, chaos engineering & load testing, and incident & problem management

5+ years experience with database technologies, or strong familiarity and demonstrated ability to become expert

Specific experience with Aurora Postgres, Cassandra, Dynamo DB, Mongo, MySQL, Elasticache Redis

2+ Experience in software development or leading teams of software engineers.

2+ years of experience working in public or private cloud environments, with preference for AWS
