Writing and editing skills, with a thorough understanding of Associated Press style and the rules of grammar and usage

Storytelling skills and an ability to transform policy ideas, metrics and strategies into easy-to-understand and compelling language for donor audiences

Ability to manage priorities and follow through

People and communication skills, whether for collaboration or managing others

Edit and rewrite or oversee revisions of content to ensure the institute’s character and tone are represented and consistent.

Produce content applying our policy solution set to news items and featuring our Your Story individuals to highlight problems.

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field, 0-1 year’ technical editing experience.

Minimum 0-1 year’ experience in creating and modifying templates, style sheets, and formats.

Experience with structured (HTML, SGML, or XML, and S1000 or DITA) content.

Knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE 100) specification.

Self-motivated with good problem solving and organization skills.

Minimum of 0- 1 year experience with structured authoring applications, such as: MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.
