Construction Miscellaneous Helper Jobs

First Shift ( Monday through Friday from 07:00am to 04:00am )

Basic construction such as using handtools and framing

Must have PPE (we can provide all but boots)

Must be very punctual and predicatable attendance

Must be willing to obtain basic tools such as hammer, screw driver, tape measure.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be able to stand and walk for 8 hours.

Trades experience related to the area of employment.

Maintenance helpers assist maintenance technicians in installing, maintaining and repairing equipment and machinery.

Must not be afraid of heights.

This position will assist in the Plumbing shop.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire

Maintenance helpers assist maintenance technicians in installing, maintaining and repairing equipment and machinery.

This position will assist in the HVAC shop.

Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources)

Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

One or more years of demonstrated experience in construction.

Experience or training with electrical apparatus such as transformers, motors, starters, wiring, and circuits to assist electricians.

Experience operating construction equipment such as a forklift, skid steer, and manlifts.

Experience applying principles of electricity and application and working safely around energized equipment.

Possesses required Computer skills and knowledge

Maintains and improves technical knowledge through ongoing training

Knowledge of how to operate construction equipment. (Vibratory plow, trenchers, conventional boring)

Knowledge of RUS and Zirrus outside plant construction practices

Knowledge of general industry OSHA regulations and adherence to safety guidance

Outside plant, underground utility, or communications construction experience preferred
