Overview of Community Psychiatry Community Psychiatry is a branch of psychiatry that focuses on providing mental health services to individuals in their own communities. This type of psychiatry is often used to treat people with mental health issues who are unable to access traditional mental health services due to their location or other factors. Community psychiatrists work with individuals, families, and communities to provide mental health care that is tailored to the needs of the individual. Detailed Job Description of Community Psychiatry Community psychiatrists are responsible for providing mental health services to individuals in their own communities. This includes providing assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health issues. They may also provide counseling, psychotherapy, and other forms of support to individuals and their families. Community psychiatrists may also work with community organizations and other professionals to provide mental health services to those in need. Community Psychiatry Job Skills Required• Knowledge of mental health issues and treatments
